We hope you are all enjoying your Labor Day weekend with family and friends.  Here is your line up for Week 17 of Virtual ParentCamp!  Make sure you click on the links to get to know our facilitators and all the great resources they bring with them.  There are going to be some fantastic discussions this week!

Room 1[Strengthen] Cultivando las virtudes en su hijo – Cultivating Character Strengths in your Child

Theresa Cruz, Hispanic Family Engagement Coordinator, Learning Grove, in Florence, Kentucky joins us again in the room.  Thank you Theresa!  Theresa has a great idea for getting ESOL families to join Virtual ParentCamp….many families are not quite sure about joining a Zoom conversation.  Have you thought about hosting a small gathering (social distant) at a location in your community and having the group join on the Zoom?  Then they can see how it works and participate as a community.  Let us know if you would like to give it a try.  We would be happy to help!

Room 2 – [Strengthen] Five Secrets Parents Must Know to Future-Proof your Children!

We are thrilled to have Dr. Ai Addyson-Zhang (@aiaddysonzhang), found of Classroom without Walls join us this week from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

After teaching in higher education at various universities in the US and the world, I have concluded that the traditional education model is NOT serving our young adults. The old system trains our students to obey and follow orders. Yet, to move our society forward, we need innovative, creative, and critical leaders and visionaries. At Classroom Without Walls, we believe the best education happens outside the
classroom.

Room 3 – [Strengthen] Restorative Practices at Home

Come join Hacking School Discipline authors and creators of Behavior Flip –  Brad Weinstein (@WeinsteinEDU), Beach Grove, IN and Nathan Maynard (@NmaynardEdu), Indianapolis, IN as we talk about using principals from our book with our own children at home.  Did you know there is a book talk on Voxer going on right now discussing the book?  Feel free to join, it goes until September 24th.  Thank you Angela, Annette (the Appalachian Game Changers) and Ted for leading this!  It you are an employer and manage people, there are a lot of great tips which you can apply to your workplace too!

Hacking School Discipline

Take a listen to Brad and Nathan on Well Played Discipline!

Room 4 – [Strengthen] Mental Health:  Your Family and Our World Needs You!

Joel Katte (@joelkatte), Founder of Ignite Love PD (@IGNITELovePD) in Lexington, KY joins us for an uplifting conversation for you and your children.

Room 5 – [Strengthen] Poverty, Trauma and Resilience – What People Need to Heal

Rebecca Lewis-Pankratz (@povertyedge), Resilience Team Director of ESSDACK in McPherson, KS joins us in a very powerful room.
