Registration is open for the November 18th Virtual ParentCamp and you are not going to want to miss it!  https://www.parentcamp.org/events/

BUT we need you to do one thing before you join us, upgrade your ZOOM!  Either download an update to your tablet/phone or download the update on your computer.  You may ask why??? With the new version, you will be able to change rooms on your own!  Even though Julie will miss seeing you all in the main room, you can now change rooms by yourself, but you need the latest version of Zoom in order to do it.  Julie will still be in the main room if you need assistance, it is ok.

So let’s get on to this week’s sessions:

Laura was feeling under the weather this week, so Julie shares a preview video for next week:

Room 1  [Connect]– Construyendo la resiliencia en la comunidad hispana
Building Resilience Within the Hispanic Community

Facilitator:  Theresa Cruz, Hispanic Family Engagement Coordinator, Learning Grove, in Florence, Kentucky joins us again in the room.  Thank you Theresa!

This is going to be a fantastic discussion especially right now with resilience being such an important skill that our children and families need in order to get through these up and down times.

Theresa has found success in getting small groups together in order to participate in events because sometimes participants are shy at joining us by themselves.  Think about giving it a try!

Room 2 [Strengthen] – Roles Families & Communities Can Play in Implementing Innovative Leadership in our Schools

Facilitator:  Dr. Houston Barber (@Frankfort_Ind), Superintendent, Frankfort Independent Schools
Facilitator:  Dr. Aaron Thompson (@cpepres), President, Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education

We are thrilled to have two of the authors of the book Implementing Innovative Leadership in an Inclusive Learning Environment leading a discussion on the roles families and communities can play.

Room 3 [Strengthen] – Stress in Schools and Families during the Holidays

Facilitator:  Joel Katte (@joelkatte), Founder of Ignite Love PD (@IGNITELovePD)

Our friend Joel Katte is back with us to help schools and families deal with stress during the holidays, which are just around the corner!

Cancelled – Room 4 [Strengthen] – Supporting and Encouraging Our Immigrant Families – Laura is not able to join us this week
