People talking

There’s something special that happens when families, educators, and community members come together with one shared purpose—supporting kids. That energy was alive and well on March 24 at McCullough Middle School’s ParentCamp.

From the moment participants walked through the doors, the tone was set: welcoming, relaxed, and full of possibility. Conversations replaced presentations, and every voice mattered.

Real Conversations That Matter

Participants chose from a variety of discussion rooms, each centered on topics that families said were important to them. Across rooms, the themes were clear—people are looking for connection, practical ideas, and reassurance that they’re not alone.

Feedback gathered through Mentimeter captured the heart of the evening:

  • “It felt good to talk with people who understand”

  • “I’m leaving with ideas I can actually use.”

  • “More events like this, please!”

Whether discussing ways to support students, navigating challenges, or simply sharing experiences, the conversations were honest, supportive, and meaningful.

A Night of Joy and Laughter

Of course, it wouldn’t be ParentCamp without a little fun woven in. The Rock–Paper–Scissors Tournament brought plenty of energy and laughter, with Dr. Morris claiming the championship title. It was a reminder that building community doesn’t just happen through conversation—it happens through shared joy, too.

What People Took Away

Participants shared that they left feeling:

  • More connected

  • Encouraged and supported

  • Inspired with new ideas

  • Part of something bigger than themselves

That’s the magic of ParentCamp—people don’t just attend, they experience it.

Gratitude and Appreciation

A huge thank you to the incredible McCullough ParentCamp team for the thoughtful planning and care that made this night possible. Events like this don’t happen by accident—they happen because of people who believe in bringing others together.

We are also grateful for the continued support of the Delaware Department of Education, whose partnership helps make these opportunities possible for families and schools.

If you’ve never attended before, this is your invitation. If you joined us in March, bring a friend. The more voices in the room, the stronger the community becomes.

And if you’re able, donations toward food and prizes for future ParentCamps are always appreciated—no amount is too small and every bit helps us continue creating these meaningful experiences.
