There’s something special that happens when families, staff, and community members come together with one shared goal—supporting kids.
On April 21st, Positive Outcomes Charter School hosted another meaningful ParentCamp, and the conversations, connections, and care in the room were undeniable.
One of the most powerful themes of the night was simple, but important—connection.
Participants shared how much they valued:
“The chance to interact with families.”
“Connecting with other parents.”
“A chance to connect with families!”
“Connecting with staff.”
And maybe most meaningful of all was hearing parents say that the school feels like extended family—that they know the staff truly cares. That kind of trust and appreciation doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built through moments like these.
Real Conversations. Real Impact.
ParentCamp continues to create space for candid conversations and action planning, where families and staff learn from each other—not through presentations, but through shared experiences.
Participants walked away not just inspired, but ready to take action:
Continuing to attend ParentCamp
Building new relationships and sharing contact information
Taking steps to better support their children, like completing a drug and alcohol class to feel more confident having important conversations at home
These are the kinds of outcomes that matter—small, meaningful steps that strengthen families and ultimately support students.
What People Needed… and Found
When we looked at what participants experienced, it was clear that ParentCamp is meeting real human needs.
The most common themes:
Appreciation. Connection. Inclusion. Support. Trust.
Also showing up strongly:
Communication, community, contribution, growth, love—and yes, even food.
Because sometimes, sharing a meal together is where connection begins.
A Community Invested in Kids
What stood out most was the strength of relationships being built—not just between families and staff, but across the entire school community.
There is a generational investment happening here. Families want to learn how to better support their kids. Staff are committed to creating space for those conversations. And together, they are building something that lasts beyond a single event.

How You Can Help
As we plan for next year’s four ParentCamps, we’re inviting our community to help make these evenings even more special.
Donations to support food and door prizes are always appreciated—and truly make a difference in creating a welcoming, engaging experience for families.
No donation is too small, and Positive Outcomes Charter School would greatly appreciate your support.
At the end of the day, ParentCamp is about one thing:
bringing people together so every child has the support they need to succeed.
And at Positive Outcomes, that’s exactly what’s happening.
