Tomlin Family at Dining Room Table

This post goes out to parents, families, educators and staff as we lean into the great unknown, the 2020-21 school year, hoping to create the best possible conditions for student growth.

ParentCamp is honored to be featured in an outstanding article by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation about Family-School-Community Engagement.  The article is entitled As schools debate reopening, parents are called to be partners and is written by Anne Kniffendorf, Freelance Writer for KCUR and the Kauffman Foundation.

Laura Gilchrist, Vice-President of ParentCamp, shares the needs for family and educator/staff dialogue, conection and collaboration. She also talks about Virtual ParentCamp’s design for connection and collaboration. We are so excited to see the powerful voices of Virtual ParentCamp parent leaders Dane Tomlin and Iris Tomlin featured prominently here. The featured photo is of Dane Tomlin and children.

What resonates with you? What do you wish for this year as a parent, family member or educator/staff as you strive to feel connected and safe, moving forward in the best way for “our kids” ?
