📱💬 The topic came up over lunch the other day with a few friends: kids and devices.

One friend shared that their family has chosen to wait until 8th grade—or even high school—before giving their children smartphones. They talked honestly about how challenging that decision can be when "everyone else" seems to have a device. I applauded her for the decision. "You are giving your kids their childhood and opportunity to be bored and explore creativity."

I shared a resource that may be helpful for families navigating these conversations: Wait Until 8th. Their mission is to empower parents to delay giving children smartphones until at least the end of 8th grade, helping reduce social pressure and creating opportunities for families to make these decisions together.

Whether your family chooses to wait or takes a different path, these conversations matter. How are you navigating devices and technology with the children in your life?

What a night at Thomas Edison ParentCamp 💛

There’s something powerful that happens when families come together with honesty, vulnerability, and a shared commitment to doing better for their kids—and that’s exactly what we experienced.

Parents shared real stories, supported one another, and reminded us all that we are not alone in this journey. The sense of community, connection, and encouragement in the room was truly inspiring.

✨ “We had a great time conversing and just gaining some encouragement from everyone.”
✨ “Although we have different backgrounds, we all could relate.”
